In his role as General Manager at Kukri Sports Mark is responsible for our offices based in Australia and New Zealand, managing a team of 15 people that is growing rapidly.
What is your background?
“I was brought up on a dairy farm in Taupiri NZ and helped milking cows until I was 20 years old, when I had the chance to play rugby abroad.
After 10 years playing in France and Ireland, I joined Kukri and 4 years later I travelled back to New Zealand to launch the Kukri NZ business. Launching and growing the business in a new country had a lot of challenges, which I relished, along the way I met a lot of wonderful people, many of whom are still customers today.”
What do you enjoy about working at Kukri?
“Kukri is a great company in very good hands, I enjoy the challenges working in the sports sector and always find a solution to any challenge that arise. It’s fantastic to be working at a company with offices around the world where everyone is heading in the same direction.”
What do you enjoy away from work?
“I enjoy fishing and diving – there is nothing better than catching cooking and eating the fresh fish in New Zealand!
I also love watching club rugby and spending time with my wife Linda and three children.”
Interesting fact about you?
“I’m probably the longest serving Kukri employee.”
